Phthalocyanines (Pcs) have great advantages in electron transfer, due to the large number of pi-electrons in highly conjugated structure. Recently, some Pcs have proved effective as conductive fillers for dielectrics and catalysts for biological and RedOx processes. Meanwhile, functionalized iron oxide (Fe3O4) nanoparticles (NPs) have attracted intensive interest due to their unique spectral and electronic properties. Hence, it is reasonably expected that composite Fe3O4 NPs decorated with metallo-Pc molecules offer a promising system suitable for above-mentioned applications. In the present work, a magnetically separable Fe3O4@SiO2@CoPc catalyst was prepared. Initially, Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were coated with the silica layer to get Fe3O4@SiO2, and then cobalt phthaocyanine (Co-Pc) having siloxane end-group was anchored to the outer surface of Fe3O4@SiO2. The prepared Fe3O4@SiO2@CoPc catalysts have been analyzed using various methods, such as SEM, EDS, UV, FT-IR, XRD and TGA. |
