Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) represent a promising technology for large, flexible, lightweight, and flat-panel displays. Patterning of the emitting material into pixels is an important step in the fabrication of multi-color displays such as RGB (red, green, blue) matrix displays. By using photo-patterning method, we can get the higher resolution of patterning which is hard to get by standard printing technique. In this research, the vinyl monomer containing red-emitting DCM dye moiety was copolymerized with 9-vinyl carbazole and a styrene derivative with an oxetane group. Oxetanes are commonly polymerized cationically. Therefore, in order to make the copolymer photocurable the photoacid generator was added. The blend showed good patternability on a silicon wafer through conventional photo-lithographic process while maintaining its electroluminescent property. |
