제목 Challenges and Prospective on CO2-assisted Li-O2 batteries
초록 A rechargeable lithium-oxygen (Li-O2) battery offers a superb gravimetric energy density (~3 kWh kg-1cell) and has been considered to be used for future battery-powered automobiles. However, high charging potential (> 4.0 V vs. Li+/Li) causes poor cycling performance as carbonaceous electrodes and non-aqueous electrolyte solutions are significantly decomposed. It is attributed to the slow oxidation of Li2O2 as the main discharging product and the large overpotential arising from the oxidation of Li2CO3 byproduct.Therefore, it is necessary to promote the oxidation of Li2O2​ and  Li2CO3 and the related poducts and understand their formation process. Here I present the formation of Li2CO3 and its intermediate species such as peroxydicarbonate and oxalate and their oxidation potentials using CO2-assisted Li-O2 cells.​
