Block Copolymer Directed Functional Ordered Mesoporous Electrode Materials for Energy Storages |

For high performance supercapacitor and Li-ion battery electrodes, various mesoporous metal oxide materials have been synthesized by employing lab-synthesized block copolymers as a structure-directing agent. The resulting mesostructured materials outperformed state-of-the art materials in Li-ion battery field. An ordered mesoporous tungsten oxide/carbon (denoted as m-WO3-X-C-S) was synthesized using a simple one-pot method and PS-b-PEO as a structure-directing agent. m-WO3-X-C-S shows a high average volumetric capacitance (340 F cm-3) and gravimetric capacitance (103 F g-1). Moreover, m-WO3-X-C-S exhibited a high rate performance because of the low internal resistance. For the first time, we synthesized mesostructured LTO/carbon composite (lithium titanate/carbon) with large (> 15 nm) and uniform pores for high performance LIB anodes via a block copolymer assembly. Sn-mesostructured carbon nanocomposites have been synthesized by simple self-assembly of block copolymers with tin and carbon precursors. |
