Polyaniline (PANI) nanofibers with an average diameter of 50 nm and an average length of 1 μm were fabricated via chemical oxidation polymerization. Interestingly, the surface area of PANI nanofibers was enlarged by increasing the amount of radical initiators. The surface area of PANI nanofibers was characterized by transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscope. In addition, PANI nanofibers were promising sensing materials due to the hydrogen-bonding between N-H group of PANI and P=O group of DMMP. Consequently, the PANI nanofibers with high surface area provided superior sensing performance, such as enhanced sensitivity, fast response & recovery time. |
