제목 Cycling test of vanadium redox flow battery
초록 Energy storage has been one of the most serious issues for human life. Various kinds of energy storage devices have been shown in forms of batteries. Among those batteries redox flow battery is a promising technology for the large scale of energy storage and can be expected as a new technology for energy storage device. In the past several decades, much attention has been focused on the vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB). The advent of vanadium redox flow batteries in particular has expanded the possibilities for large-scale electrochemical energy storage in the utility industry. The singular advantages of flow batteries are long life, active thermal management, and independence of energy and power ratings suited for relatively large-scale utility applications. In particular, vanadium redox batteries have advantages in long life-time (>10 yr). In this study, VRFB cycling test was carried out using electrolyte additives such as ethylene glycol, PVA, d-sorbitol, and urea for extending the vanadium redox flow battery life.
