In this work, graphite oxide-filled epoxy nanocomposites were prepared using a melt mixing method. The morphologies were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The surface characteristics were determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The contact angles were measured using the sessile drop method. The mechanical properties were determined by measuring the impact strength, calculating the critical stress intensity factor (KIC), and critical strain energy release rate (GIC). The result indicated that graphite oxide showed an important role in improving the toughness behaviors of epoxy nanocomposites. |
