제목 | Nanostrutured thin films with a few nanometers to micrometers |
초록 | In this report we present how to fabricate thin organic films to have hexagonally packed regular structures of which the size of the pattern ranges from a few nanometers to micrometers. In this purpose, PS-block-PMMA block copolymer thin films with PMMA cylindrical microdomains was employed. PMMA cylinders were vertically oriented on the PS-ran-PMMA random copolymer chemically attached to the substrate. We succeeded to make nano holes with a few nanometers diameter by crosslinking the PS matrix. The volume contraction induced by matrix crosslinking opened pores in the center of PMMA cylindrical domains. Mixtures of a block copolymer and homopolymer were used to control the lattice spacing and hole diameter. Addition of the homopolymer varied the hole diameter from a few nanometers to a few decades of nanometers which is impossible with neat block copolymer only. For a few hundred of nanometers or micrometer size patterns, hemishperical micropore and sub-micropore were made with cellulose acetate butyrate(CAB) by simply evaporating solvent from CAB solution and spin coating under humid condition. After complete evaporation of solvent and water, the traces of water droplets remain in CAB film. Finally, electric fields were used to enhance thermal fluctuations at the interface between two thin liquids films liquid/air films. Electrically induced instability can be used to control the size of morphology. For instance, hexagonally-packed structure with well-defined wavelength was generated from liquid/air and immscible liqud/liqud thin films if electric field was applied to the system This work was supported by National RND Program (M1-0214-00-0230) by MOST, and by National Research Laboratory Program. |
