Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), such as carbamazepine, have different physical properties(such as solubility) as polymorphism. Therefore, it is necessary to control polymorphism to satisfy purposes of pharmaceutical substances. Cooling crystallization was carried out by different concentration ratio of mixed solvent. Before crystallization process, solubility of API was investigated as different concentration ratio and temperature of the mixed solvent. In the experiment, cooling crystallization proceeded based on this solubility data, and polymorphism was confirmed by raman in-line. Based on the raman in-line data, it can be seen that transformation that crystals of form 1 are generated initially and changed to form 2 appeared. Conclusionally, it can be confirmed the transformation time is slower as the ratio of the main solvent in mixed solvent is higher. |
