Carbon nanotubes show strong application potential in electronics, scanning probe microscopy, chemical and biological sensing, reinforced composite materials, and in many more areas. In this study, the thin multi-layer film with modified multiwalled carbon nanotube(MWNT-COOH)/palladium nanoparticles were prepared by self-assembly method via ionic interaction between the carboxylated MWNTs and palladium nanoparticles. The detailed synthesis procedure of new multi-layer film was that COOH-modified MWNT was coating on the surface Si-substrate by self-assembly reaction and then the substrate was immersed in methanol solution of palladium nanoparticle with changing the concentration of the solution for ion-exchange self-assembly reaction. The composition, structure, and surface morphology of the thin film were characterized by FT-IR, AFM, FE-SEM, EDX, XPS and contact angle. |
