제목 Atmospheric rf plasma for superhydrophobic coatings
초록 This talk discusses the direct deposition of hydrocarbon coatings with a water contact angle higher than 150o using non-fluorinated precursor gases in helium plasma generated in ambient air without any pre-roughening of substrates. Two types of precursor gases were investigated pure hydrocarbons and organic-inorganic hybrids. Since the plasma is generated in air, all films show some degree of oxygen incorporation due to excitation of ambient air. However, the incorporation of a small amount of oxygenated species in the film is not detrimental for superhydrophobicity. Our patented atmospheric rf plasma does not produce ozone even though it is operated in ambient air.
