제목 Dependence of Geometry of Crystalline Phase Upon Mechanical Properties in Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic
초록 Multilayer technology has been developed for small size, light weight and multifunctional electronic components in rapid information society. LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) has been used as a multilayer technology because of low sintering temperature (below 900oC) and low dielectric loss. However, increasing layers in devices demand high strength of LTCC materials. In this study, we used a glass-ceramic for LTCC application. The raw materials are consisted of 70wt% (CS1 frit: 35wt%, CS2 frit: 35wt%) and 30wt% alumina(d50-3.7um). After firing around 900oC, the CS1 and CS2 were crystallized as CaAl2Si2O8 (anorthite) and CaMgSi2O6 (diopside), respectively. The mechanical property of sintered bodies was measured by the 3 and 4-point flexural strength test. The porosities and crystalline phases (size and shape) were determined by several SEM images. Based on the results, the mechanical properties of sintered bodies were correlated to the porosity and the crystalline phases. The purpose of our study is to give a preliminary result for high strength LTCC application.
