제목 Skin patch immobilized with VEGF-incorporated hydrogel for wound healing applications
초록 As the largest organ, skin covers the entire exterior of the body.  Due to its direct exposure to potentially harmful reagents, the loss of skin can occur for many reasons.  Tissue engineered skin substitute represent a logical therapeutic options for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds.  In this work, porous polyester fabrics were rendered to have Janus property via initiated chemical vapor deposition (iCVD) of a flouropolymer.  Antimicrobial property of hydrophobic surface was confirmed by bacterial cell adhesion and proliferation analysis.  Simple hydrolysis reaction with KOH on thin film of flouropolymer resulted in hydrophilic carboxylic acid functionality, which were further chemically reacted to immobilize gelatin methacrylate(GelMA) and growth factors.  The porous polyester fabric immobilized with  VEGF-incorporated GelMA along with its antimicrobial property can be potentially applied in various skin regeneration applications.
