Novel quinoxaline-based small molecules have been synthesized by using conjugation between an electron-donating triphenylamine unit and electron-accepting quinoxaline units through thiophene linker. In addition, various functional groups such as methoxy, hydrogen and fluorine have been linked to the para-position of 2,3-diphenyl ring on quinoxaline units. The promising results have been obtained from these materials in organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs). This study can provide meaningful insight into the structure-property relationships for conjugated small molecules for OPVs. |
