제목 Viscosity as a Measure of Graphene and Carbon Nanotube Dispersion in Polymer Nanocomposites
초록 This poster investigates optimization of graphene and carbon nanotube dispersion process in polymer nanocomposite fabrication. During sonication, the viscosity of the carbon nanomaterial-polymer resin mixture was measured at pre-specified intervals (15, 30, 60, 90, and 120 min), and the correlation between viscosity and degree of dispersion was determined. The viscosities of both graphene-resin and carbon nanotube-resin mixtures exhibited increasing trends with sonication time, indicating thixotropic fluid behavior as the carbon nanomaterials were dispersed more uniformly. The degree of carbon nanomaterial dispersion was further verified through bulk resistivity measurement, dynamic mechanical analysis, and scanning electron microscopy.
