Collagen/PCL Nanofibers Cross-linking and Characterization of Physical Properties as Irradiation Dose |

Electrospun polymeric nanofibers have been extensively studied for biomedical materials because of their unique structures and relatively easy fabrication with biocompatible polymers. In this study, we developed collagen/PCL nanofibrous, hybrid nanofibrous scaffolds composed of poly(ε-caprolactone)(PCL) and type Ι collagen were cross-linked without the addition of a chemical cross-linking agent using 60Co γ-ray irradiation. The irradiation dose to effectively crosslink the collagen and PCL without chemical cross-linking agent was varied. After that, the surface morphology of scaffolds were analyzed by SEM, physicochemical properties were measured through FT-IR, water contact angle. As a result, by varying the dose, the PCL and collagen were increased surface wettability and mechanical properties by the cross-linking reaction. Therefore, its will be used to effective tissue engineered biomaterials by the improved biocompatibility and biological function. |
