제목 Functional silica-incorporated sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) composite membranes for high-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells
초록 We have successfully developed new composite membranes for high-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells by incorporating phosphoric acid-functionalized silica (H3PO4-SiO2) powders into sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (SPAES) electrolyte. The H3PO4-SiO2 powders were synthesized via co-condensation of diethyl phosphate ethyltriethoxysilane(DPTS) and tetraethoxysilane(TEOS) using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB) as a template, followed by acidification of phosphonate to phosphonic acid. The synthesized H3PO4-SiO2 powders were successfully mixed with SPAES electrolytes using intensive bead-milling. Due to the excellent water retention capability of H3PO4-SiO2 powders, the composite membranes improved the proton conductivities at high temperature conditions.
