Characteristic properties of hyaluronic acid-chitosan electrospun nanofibers |

Electrospinning technique is used to make the nanofiber of biomaterials in the tissue engineering field due to their biodegradability and biocompatibility. The water soluble chitosan (WC) and hyaluronic acid (HA) were crosslinked via the electrospinning. In this study, The WC or HA blended with poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) solution with a various of volume ratios. These WC-PEO and HA-PEO solutions were simultaneously electrospun by dual applicator needle tip. These WC-HA-PEO complexes were confirmed the characterization by using rheometer, FT-IR and SEM. Also, the MG-63 cell line was cultured in the nanofibers to assay the cytotoxicity and biocompatibility of the WC-HA-PEO complexes. The nanofibers were investigated to confirm the affinity of cells by using the SEM and fluorescence microscopy. It is indicated that the complexes have a high properties of cell adhension and viability. |
