제목 Separation of Europium and Cerium by Solvent Extraction Using Fatty Acid, Amines and Ammonium Salts as an Extractant
초록 In recent years, rare earth elements(REE) such as europium and cerium are used in fluorescent light, LED, an electric motor of automobile and battery of wind power generation or solar power generation. These rare earth elements are needed to recycle because of the limited reserves. A study on the efficient separation of europium and cerium has been carried out by solvent extraction with fatty acids, amines and ammonium salts as extractants. Experiment conditions, including the pH of the extracted solution and various carbon chain length of the extractants, were investigated in order to achieve the selective extraction. Using tetradecyl amine as an extractant, it is the highest that the selectivity of europium and cerium.
