Liquid phase plasma (LPP) reduction method was applied, for the first time, to the impregnation of copper nanoparticles onto graphene. Copper nanoparticles were dispersed uniformly on the surface of the two-dimensional graphene sheet. The electron miocroscopy observation showed approximately 5~10 nm sized spherical nanoparticles deposited on the surface of graphene sheets. The XPS and EDX analyses revealed that both metal Cu and CuO were present in the Cu/graphene composites synthesized by the LPP method. CuO was not detected by Raman spectroscopy analysis of Cu/graphene composites, although it was observed in the XPS analysis, probably because the quantity of CuO produced was too small. |
