제목 Crystallization Behavior of Salts upon Solvent Evaporation and Its Uses for Micropatterning
초록 Herein, we investigated the crystallization behavior of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) from the highly diluted aqueous solution. Aqueous Na2CO3 solution which was applied on a substrate by draining, as the water evaporated, formed seaweed-like crystals isotropically over large areas. It was also confirmed that sizes and shapes of crystals were effectively controlled by the experimental factors including its concentration, evaporation rate, temperature and humidity. Furthermore, it was observed that the orientation of crystals could be imparted as the evaporation of water occurred under the certain condition. In addition, the crystals of Na2CO3 were employed as the master pattern to fabricate the flexible mold of poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS). Then, electrically conductive silver (Ag) inks were filled into the pores of PDMS molds and transferred to various substrates by imprinting techniques for the potential application to produce well-defined electrodes for a variety of electric devices.
