Improving the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells by applying hybrid ZnO as an antireflection coating. |

Optical devices such as solar cell need anti-reflection coating in order to increase the transmittance and decrease the reflectance by using light interference at the surface. Anti-reflection coating is an important factor for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) because it improves the efficiency of solar cell by changing the Jsc. In this study, the effect of crystal quality of hybrid ZnO by comparing the photoelectron conversion efficiency of DSSC. Hybrid ZnO was grown by MOCVD at 400~700 degree C and samples were fabricated with conventional DSSC. Material properties such as surface morphology, crystal quality, transmittance and reflectance were characterized using SEM, XRD and UV/visible spectroscope. The efficiency of DSSC, Jsc and FF were measured by solar simulator. The Transmittance and reflectance of ZnO hybrid structure grown on Back of the FTO glass were 90% and 6%, respectively and had a greater transmittance than FTO glass (85% light transmittance). The results confirmed that the crystal quality of hybrid ZnO as an antireflection would affect the efficiency of DSSC and the optimization of material properties need to be performed. |
