Nickel-loaded activated carbons for elemental mercury adsorption behaviors |
초록 |
The elemental mercury adsorption of nickel-plated activated carbon (ACs) was investigated. The pore structure of the ACs before and after nickel plating was studied by N2/77 K isothermal adsorption. As experimental results, the ACs showed a decrease in specific surface area and micro- and total pore volume with increasing nickel content. The elemental mercury adsorption of the ACs was predominantly increased. Nickel can be oxidized easily, indicating that nickel has high chemical activity. It is thinkable that Ni-ACs showed high elemental mercury adsorption due to the higher activity of nickel metal. |
