Control of the photocurrent and open-circuit voltage in organic solar cells with ultrathin dye interlayer |
초록 |
Organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells can be an essential component of future global energy production because of low cost, light weight, and mechanical flexibility. We controlled short-circuit current density (Jsc) and open-circuit voltage (Voc) of the OPV cells by inserting a phthalocyanine thin layer between the donor and acceptor layers. The HOMO and LUMO levels of the three materials form a cascade energy band structure such that an exciton formed in any of the three layers will dissociate into a free electron and a hole at the interface between two organic layers. In this cascade energy band structure, additionally-generated excitons in the interfacial layer could contribute to photocurrent. Furthermore, higher ionization potential of the phthalocyanine materials compared to the donor increased the Voc. |
