제목 Control of the photocurrent and open-circuit voltage in organic solar cells with ultrathin dye interlayer
초록 Organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells can be an essential component of future global energy production because of low cost, light weight, and mechanical flexibility. We controlled short-circuit current density (Jsc) and open-circuit voltage (Voc) of the OPV cells by inserting a phthalocyanine thin layer between the donor and acceptor layers. The HOMO and LUMO levels of the three materials form a cascade energy band structure such that an exciton formed in any of the three layers will dissociate into a free electron and a hole at the interface between two organic layers. In this cascade energy band structure, additionally-generated excitons in the interfacial layer could contribute to photocurrent. Furthermore, higher ionization potential of the phthalocyanine materials compared to the donor increased the Voc.
