Recently, anion-exchange membranes (AEMs) have an attraction in fuel cell applications due to favorable oxygen reduction reaction and use of non-precious electrocatalysts. In this study, AEMs were prepared by chloromethylation by chloromethylmethylether (CMME) and amination by mono- (trimethylamine, TMA) and/or diamine. To investigate the effect of akylchain length of diamine on the membrane properties (i.e., OH- conductivity, water content, TGA, DSC) several diamines such as N,N,N’,N’-tetramethylmethanediamine, N,N,N’,N’-tetra-methylethylenediamine, N,N,N’,N’-tetramethyl-1,3-propanediamine, N,N,N’,N’-tetramethyl-1,4-butanediamine and N,N,N’,N’-tetramethyl-1,6-hexanediamine were used for amination. Those diamines were employed themselves and mixture type with the monoamine (TMA). The prepared membranes were characterized in terms of proton conductivity, water content, TGA and DSC. |
