Polyurethane foam are usually made by reacting polyisocyanate with polyols in the presence of blowing agents, and the foam using by polyether polyol has hydrophobic property. For the more hydrophobic polyurethane foam, styrene modified polyol was used in the preparation of the foam. The modified polyol were synthesized by polymerizing styrene monomers in the presence of polytetramethylene glycol. The polymerization is induced by 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile as radical binders and carried out at temperature of 80℃. Polyurethane foam prepared by one-shot process using polymer polyol, diisocyanate and additives. The density, tensile strength, elongation, compression set and mechanical properties of the polyurethane foam were examined. |
