PA66 has been widely used in various engineering fields due to its excellent chemical resistance, wear resistance, toughness, high hardness, and strength. Among the numerous fillers, Potassium titanate has been found to be a promising reinforcer for mechanical properties of composites. However, most of the fillers have a strong tendency to undergo agglomeration followed by insufficient dispersion in the polymer matrix, degrading the properties of the polymer composites. This work has been carried out on the structural change of filler surface via coupling agent treatment, in order to overcome these disadvantages. The modified fillers were characterized by means of FT-IR, BET, melt behavior. Mechanical properties of PA66 composites were also studied. |
