In this study, a series of honey were selected and modified as wound dressings. Crosslinked CMC was synthesized by the gamma rays from a 60Co source, and used as a viscosity increasing agent include particulate and continuous gels state. Preferred honey mixed with the CMC was sterilized by the gamma rays of 25 kGy, the antibacterial and water-holding properties of this hybrid were investigated as evidence supporting use for providing an effective and moist wound healing environment. Further, experimental rats were performed and observed for wound healing trials by treating with CMC-honey. These honey gel would have potential use with care in the opening wound of body. |
