Self-assembled block copolymers (BCPs) have already shown promising roles as versatile tools for fabricating multifunctional hybrid nanostructures with tailored inner arrangements and composition due to their microphase separation providing the selectivity for the spatial arrangement of nanoparticles and the ability to control the periodicity of nanostructures. It has been recently reported that BCPs can be converted to carbon, providing a platform based on which hybrid carbonaceous nanomaterials suitable for wide applications in carbon-based nanotechnology can be fabricated. In this presentation, we demonstrate facile, one-step strategies to fabricate electrocatalysts for fuel cell applications loaded onto carbon support utilizing direct carbonization of self-assembled BCP template. |
