제목 | A Novel Trinuclear Bimetallic Catalyst for Ethylene Polymerization. |
초록 | Late-transition-metal olefin polymerization catalysts have received much attention recently because they can produce polyolefins with interesting new branching topologies and have better tolerance to functional groups. The tridentate Fe(II) and Co(II) based catalysts are robust and extremely active for polymerization of ethylene to linear, high-density polyethylene. On the contrary, the bidentate Ni(II) and Pd(II) based catalysts could convert ethylene directly to highly branched polyethylene without the addition of expensive α-olefins, such as 1-hexene and 1-octene. In the present study we have synthesized a bimetallic-Co(II) and Ni(II) based-trinuclear catalyst. Polymerization with these catalysts has been explored under a variety of reaction condition. The activity of catalyst with different cocatalysts has been thoroughly investigated. High activity was maintained over a wide range of cocatalyst ratio. The effects of the ligand structure of newly synthesized catalyst on the microstructure of polymer formed were analyzed using DSC, NMR, and GPC. The extend of metal loading in the catalyst was determined by ICP- MS. Fig:1 Catalyst under investigation |
