Conducting polymer polyaniline (PANI) has received limit of application, because PANI is neither soluble in organic solvents and water nor fusible. Therefore, monomer aniline was graft-copolymerized onto waterborne polyurethane(WBPU) film to obtain usable conductive material without any significant property changes of WBPU in this study. The effect of reaction conditions(reaction time, temperature and concentration of APS, aniline and HCl) on the grafting of aniline was investigated. The relationship between mechanical properties/conductivity and grafting degree of PANI-grafted WBPU film was also studied. Optimum conditions with various reaction times, temperatures and concentrations of APS, aniline and HCl was found to get a maximum grafting degree. The conductivity of PANI-grafted-WBPU film was found to be in the range of 10-7~10-2S/cm. |
