제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Photo-Crosslinkable Liquid Crystalline Compounds for Photo-Imaging Patterns
초록 Potosensitive liquid crystalline (LC) molecules with photo-crosslinkable groups have attracted a deep interest due to a wide variety of applications in the field of microlithography, photocurable coating, nonlinear optics, photofabrication, photoconductors, energy exchange materials, etc. Among various photo-crosslinkable group, α,β-unsaturated carbonyl unit known as cinnamoyl group have attracted particular attention due to its excellent photoreactivity at UV absorption wavelength. Here, cinnamoyl group is known to dimerize by a [2+2] addition reation, when exposed to UV light. In this presentation, we report the synthesis and properties of liquid crystalline compounds with cinnamoyl group onto mesogen backbone. Due to wide range of liquid crystalline phase including highly photo-crosslinking activities of the resulting LC molecules, this might be used as promising materials for photo-imaging patterns
