제목 Synthesis, characterization and properties of new polyimides with various side chains containing biphenyl carbonitrile mesogen unit
초록 We designed new aromatic polyimides with various side chains containing a biphenyl carbonitrile mesogen unit. Two new monomeric diamines 2,2-bis{3-amino-4-{6-[4-(4-cyanophenyl)phenoxy]hexyloxy}phenyl}hexafluoropropane(CP6F) and 2,2-bis{3-amino-4-{8-[4-(4-cyanophenyl)phenoxy]octyloxy}phenyl}hexafluoropropane(CP8F) were synthesized by Mitsunobu etherification of 6-[4-(4-cyanophenyl)phenoxy]hexa-1-ol(CP6) and 8-[4-(4-cyanophenyl)phenoxy]octan-1-ol(CP8), respectively, with 2,2-bis(3-diphthalimido-4hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane followed by deprotecting of the phthalimido groups using hydrazine monohydrate. The monomeric diamines were characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR spectroscopic methods and used to prepare polyimides with a number of dianhydrides such as PMDA, 6FDA, BTDA, and ODPA. Polyimides were characterized by FT-IR, TGA, DSC and inherent viscosity measurements. The properties of obtained polyimides such as solubility, phase transitions and structure were investigated by means of DSC,TGA, OM, and WAXS.
