제목 Synthesis of Bismethacrylate-type polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane, as a Potential Matrix for Dental Restoratives.
초록 The polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) is thermally and chemically more robust than silicones and their nanostructure shape and size provide unique properties at the molecular level. Incorporation of nano-sized organic/inorganic hybrid monomer into the matrix of dental restoratives may improve their mechanical properties. Two types of bismethacrylate monomers and macromonomer bearing aminopropylisobutyl-POSS were prepared by Michael addition of ethylene glycol acrylate methacrylate (EGAMA), tetra-ethylene glycol acrylate methacrylate (tetra-EGAMA) and tetra-ethylene glycol diacrylate (tetra-EGDA) to aminopropylisobutyl-POSS. Hybrid monomers were cured with bisphenol-A glycerolate dimethacrylate (Bis-GMA), urethane dimethacrylate (UDMA), and triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) by visible light activated polymerization system. Structure-property relationships of the hybrid monomer for dental application were investigated.
