Photoluminescence of CdSe Quantum Dots in CdSe/PMMA nanocomposites |

The photoluminescence of CdSe quantum dots (QDs) in CdSe/PMMA nanocomposites were studied for the application to lumophores in light emitting diodes (LEDs). We synthesized highly-luminescent CdSe QDs by pyrolysis process and characterized optical properties using UV-visible spectroscopy and photoluminescence spectroscopy corresponding to their size using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Synthesized high-quality CdSe QDs emit different colors (PL wavelength 550nm~650nm) according to their size (2.5nm~4.5nm) due to “quantum confinement effect”. And we fabricated CdSe/PMMA thin films on quartz substrate using spin-coating of CdSe/PMMA nanocomposites and investigated the photoluminescence systematically. |
