Liquid electrolyte based dye-sensitized solar cell requires encapsulation resulting in additional process and fabrication cost, and its long-term stability issues becomes serious obstacles for the commercialization. Recently, to overcome this problem, gelated polymer based electrolyte has been considered as an alternative for the liquid-state electrolyte. In this study, chemically gelated polymer was prepared by heating a polymer and cross-linking agent, followed by adding electrolyte ions solution to the gel. We discuss the formation of gel polymer and electrolyte’s characteristics according to the preparation conditions. In addition, the detail performance characteristics of DSSC based on the gelated polymer will be discussed. |
