High-Performance Wearable Photovoltaics Enabled by Nanophotonic Management |
초록 |
Given that wearable electronic devices including various environmental sensors require a self-generating energy source, photovoltaic systems that can be incorporated with such devices are a fascinating option of a wearable energy source due to their ability of supporting the electric power consistently. Here we present strategies of implementing a practically applicable wearable photovoltaic device that consists of polymer solar cells (PSCs) with the enhanced performance by simply embodied, plasmonic nanostructures on a commercially available textile. To exploit surface-uneven, water-permeable textile as a substrate of top-illuminated, inverted PSCs, the treatment for simultaneous functions of planarization and encapsulation is conducted with organic/inorganic multilayers. The surface plasmon resonance arising at a nanostructured cathode promotes the photon absorption by combined effects of the photon scattering and the field confinement, thereby achieving the efficiency of ~8.7%. |
