Organic electronics have been extensively studied due to their inspiring potential for ultrathin, lightweight, flexible electronic systems. As well recognized, organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) have been successfully integrated as an information display into smart phones, HD TVs etc. In addition to the successful commercialization of OLEDs, organic solar cells (OSCs) have been also intensively studied for the last decade and they are expected to be commercialized within several years. However, no particular attention has been paid to organic photodetectors, even though they have huge potential as a next generation camera and/or detector for a variety of electronic products. This presentation will demonstrate our recent efforts on organic photodetectors based on polymeric bulk heterojunction layers. |
