제목 Kinetics of transesterification in waste oil to biodiesel fuel as treated in supercritical alcohols
초록 The study shows the possibility of conducting transesterification of waste oil under supercritical ethanol and methanol. The research is carried out in a batch type reactor from 130oC-350oC in 3 different molar ratios of 1:6, 1:12 and 1:18. In case of supercritical ethanol, maximum conversion is achieved at around 99% at molar ratio of 1:12 & 1:18 at 3300C of reaction temperature. But, during transesterification with supercritical methanol, almost the same conversion is achieved at molar ratio of 1:6 & 1:18 at 350oC.  Further, the study also developed a kinetic model of transesterification of waste oil to biodiesel.  The activation energy calculated from kinetic analysis by linear regression was agreed well with the published data.
