Molecular doping based on blending organic semiconductors and dopants has been a common strategy to improve the electrical conductivity of the organic semiconductors. However, exclusion of molecular dopants from conjugated polymers (CPs) during film formation processes has limited doping efficiency of this method. In this presentation, we report on the sequential p-doping of two new CPs (CP1 and CP2) through a simple but very effective solution (F4TCNQ dopant solution) soaking method. The suggested sequential doping enables strong intercalation of F4TCNQ molecules into CPs’ matrix, resulting in much improved electrical conductivity (>100 Scm-1) compared to that obtained from conventional blending method (~5.0 Scm-1). From the spectroscopic, structural and morphological analyses, it is revealed that the sequential doping strongly depends on the diffusion efficiency of the dopant molecules into the CP’s matrix. |
