제목 Bio-inspired adhesive catecholamines: applications in point-of-care diagnostic testing
초록 Catecholamine is one of the most attractive molecular adhesive moieties that is commonly found in nature. The mussel lives attached on wet surface by the incorporation of catecholamines in their foot proteins. Plant-flavonoids are also catecholic/polyphenolic derivatives that show remarkable molecular-level adhesion in aqueous environments. In addition, catecholamine plays an important role in generating color of skin, hairs and eyes, as a group of biopigments called melanin. This dual role of catecholamine in nature inspires us to develop novel colored adhesive materials that can be used as molecular probes for colorimetric bioassays. In this presentation, the nature-inspired approaches generating catecholamine-based materials for point-of-care diagnostic testing will be discussed.
