Bio-based materials an alternative to synthetic polymers such as Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) have been emerged for packing applications. Cellulose derived materials for packing application because of their lightweight, low-cost, most abundant and eco-friendly. However, cellulose film does not have immaculate barrier against oxygen and water. Herein, we introduced and investigated a simple process for the fabricated cellulose nanofibril (CNF) film with high oxygen barrier and water resistance properties. CNF film was coated by poly (chloro-p-xylene) through chemical vapor deposition (CVD). We confirmed film transmittance and oxygen transmittance rates of coated CNF film using by UV-vis, manometic gas permeation analyzer respectively. In the results, coated CNF film by CVD process had excellent optical transparency and besides water resistance compared with pristine CNF film. |
