Controlled nanoparticle synthesis of Ag/Fe co-doped calcium phosphate system for cancer cell treatment |

Calcium phosphate (CaP) acts as a drug carrier that can be dissolve at low pH 4 values, in lysosomes after cellular intake or in the acidic environment of solid tumors, thereby releasing the incorporated metal ions, drugs molecules. The present study was to demonstrate the synthesis of calcium phosphate doped with silver (Ag+), iron (Fe2+) and silver/iron-codoped (Ag+/Fe2+) nanoparticles restrained by co-precipitation techniques. At higher Ag+/Fe2+ co-doping concentrations yielded samples with spherical, rod-like, and flake-like structures, whereas spherical and rod like morphologies with controlled manner for the samples of higher Ag+ doping. The in vitro biological properties such as cell morphology and cytotoxicity were studied by normal cells (HEK-293) and cancerous cells (HeLa) at various concentrations of nanoparticles were analyzed about 24 h. Further, hemolytic assay of the samples demonstrates their excellent blood compatibility. |
