제목 Thermal curing behaviors and surface mechanical properties of acrylic polymers with pendant protected methacrylate functional groups
초록  Research projects on acrylic polymers with pendant vinyl functional groups are steadily ongoing to increase crosslinking density. However, it's challenging to control their rate of reaction and synthesize them without post-functionalization. Here in, sulfoxide groups(SG) were used to protect methacrylate groups during radical polymerization. Acrylic polymers with pendant protected methacrylate groups(APPPM) were newly synthesized without post-functionalization. Since SG could be deprotected by heating, thermal curing behaviors were observed with a rheometer and a RPT. Thermal properties of crosslinked films were measured by TGA and DSC. The surface mechanical properties of crosslinked films were evaluated using a NI and a NST. This study introduced new APPPM which could successfully control a rapid radical reaction. These results endowed the potential to control the polymer chain mobility restriction under thermal curing.
