Effect of external elastomer addition on physical properties and morphology of heterophasic polypropylene was investigated by SEM(scanning electron microscope), UTM(Universal Testing Machine) and haze meter. From the SEM study, it was found that the elastomer composition and contents influence the morphology of heterophasic polypropylene. Mechanical properties such as flexural modulus and impact strength of blends were also affected by addition of elastomer and its design. Haze test results showed co-monomer composition and molecular weight of elastomer influence transparency. Effect of LLDPE on physical properties and morphology was also examined. |
