제목 | Stem cell painting using adhesive hydrogel for the treatment of atherosclerosis |
초록 | We developed an adhesive hydrogel based on catechol-modified hyaluronic acid (HA-CA) for stem cell transplantation to treat atherosclerosis. In a rabbit model of atherosclerosis, the HA-CA hydrogels containing mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) were painted onto the outside surface of arterial blood vessels. The treatment using HA-CA hydrogel with MSCs reduced the thickness of neointima and improved reendothelialization on the injured vessels. The treatment also reduced macrophage-positive area and the expression of inflammation biomarkers in the plaques. Therefore, this adhesive HA-CA hydrogel can provide an efficient strategy to deliver stem cells for treating atherosclerosis.
