In this work, the mesoporous TiO2 (M-TiO2) sphere was synthesized by solvothermal treatment with amorphous TiO2 in ammonia solution. The surface morphology and structural properties of M-TiO2 sphere was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The textural properties of the M-TiO2 sphere studied were investigated using Brunauer-Emmette-Teller (BET) equation. The photocatalytic activities of M-TiO2 sphere were tested using methylene blue (MB) solution under UV and visible light irradiation. From the result, the ammonia affects specific surface area and pore size of the samples. Also, it was apparent that photocatalytic activities of the M-TiO2 sphere were higher than amorphous M-TiO2 due to a higher specific surface area and controllable pore size. |
