Transformation of alcohols to aldehydes or carboxylic acids under aqueous condition is a key step in green chemical processes, due to free of environmentally toxic solvents, and various applicability of their oxidized product. In this sense, developing catalysts, which are active in water, are needed for aqueous aerobic alcohol oxidation. In this paper, we demonstrate that graphene oxide supported ruthenium catalyst can be a good candidate for aerobic alcohol oxidation catalyst under aqueous condition with excellent activity. Additionally, the catalyst showed reusability without significant loss of its catalytic performance. |
