Principle of CDI and its Potential as Desalination Technology |
초록 |
Water scarcity have emerged as global crisis by rapid industrialization and population growth. As a consequence, there has been increasing demand for desalination techniques to utilize saline water, which occupies more than 97% of global water. Compared to the conventional desalination techniques such as RO and distillation, capacitive deionization (CDI) has drawn attention for low-cost and low energy intensive process. In this talk, basic principle of CDI and its recent accomplishments will be introduced followed by evaluation of CDI as a potential desalination technology. |
