제목 Selective Sensing of CO, C6H6, and C7H8 Gases by Catalytic Metal Functionalization
초록 In this work, multiple networked SnO2 nanowires were synthesized and their surfaces were subsequently decorated with uniformly distributed metal nanoparticles (NPs). The sensing tests indicated that the Pt-, Pd-, and Au-decorated SnO2 nanowires exhibited excellent sensing behavior, specifically for C7H8, C6H6, and CO gases, respectively. The associated sensing mechanisms are discussed in regard to the selective catalytic effects of metal NPs. In addition, by means of d-band theory, the catalytic capabilities of each metal are discussed. And for exploring new catalytic metals design principles are proposed. The present study will pave the way for further development of high-selectivity, -sensitive, and -reliable sensors.
